I sit here on a Sunday afternoon writing this blog post and sobbing while I see this Golden Week coming to an end… Not ready to face Monday tomorrow!
I could go on and on about my Sunday blues but lets keep that aside.
Today’s blog post is all about embroidery – its everywhere and I absolutely dig this Generation Z trend! Enhanced embroidery details on a basic jacket, denim or shirt make the clothing item so much more interesting and give that edge.
Lately, Zara has been nailing this fashion trend to the core. Every time I walk in to a Zara store my heart melts a little inside with all the intricate embroidery pieces (slightly dramatic but its true!)
I personally connect to this embroidery trend because I feel as though it connects me back to my roots. Indian fashion consists of spectacular embroidery with a great deal of intricacy. I am a big fan of the amalgamation of this old historical embroidery technique with modern day style – I’m sure you would’ve noticed I’m obsessed with this over the couple of #OOTD posts I’ve shared earlier on this space.
With that said, yesterday I was out and about in Harajuku – a very popular shopping district in Tokyo. I stuck to an “all black” look and wore my Zara ruffled embroidery blazer, with black distressed hem denims, tank top and my favourite embroidered mules!

Can we take a moment to admire the hand embroidery details on this jacket?! I got this a while back in February but just got around to wearing it. It’s definitely a statement piece, which is why I kept the rest of my outfit very monotoned.

Keeping up with the embroidery trend, I noticed I only hoarded clothes so I decided to purchase these embroidered mules off SheIn.com. I was quite hesitant purchasing these at first since I had never shopped from there before and wasn’t sure of the fitting/quality. But to my surprise, the mules were great – also they are true to size, so don’t worry about sizing up. The embroidery work looks good and are super comfy. Yes, they are a Gucci look-alike and a hundred times cheaper – but they do the job. I’ve been wearing them non-stop since they arrived. I’m already eyeing another pair of mules from their website, so maybe another purchase happening soon!
Hope you guys enjoyed this blog post – it’s quite different to my previous ones. Do let me know what embroidery trends you are loving, I’d love to try them out!
