Winter Blues

Winter Blues

If you know me in person, or have read some of previous blog posts, you would know that winter has always been my favourite season. From all the four seasons that we get to experience here, winter is one I ALWAYS look forward to. However, after this year I am re-evaluating my fondness for hibernation.

Yes winter fashion is amazing, don’t get me wrong. I mean, what other time of the year is it acceptable to lounge around in oversized knits and actually step outside in your blanket coats? Having said that, the very thought of dropping temperatures, hauling around in chunky coats bulky boots all while trying to look put together is unattainable – fo’realz, I think I know this feeling too well.

It’s safe to say this year by far has been the coldest winter Tokyo has ever experienced – precisely the lowest temperature recorded in the last 48 years. So with the minus-dropping apocalyptic weather, staying warm, cozy and toasty is my main priority with the slight hope of managing to look chic and not a living/moving ball of fluff.

I love a good monochromatic silhouette during the winters – just like this 50 shades of blue kinda vibes. It’s perfect for those days when you’re not looking to experiment with mix’n’matchin’ prints and colors. From slouchy knits to oversized knits, both become your best friend when you’re going for a laid-back style. So while winter is still in full swing, I’m wearing my cozy sweaters on rotation.

It’s chic, it’s simple and above all, it’s comfortable! ♥

While I love splurging on good knits and layers for the icicle period, it’s safe to say I’m prepared to brace the warmer days that are ahead of us – says the girl who’ll be whining about the heat in no time!

Till then, “the cold never bothered me anyway” – said no one else but Elsa.
