Oh Tokyo, we are so close to Spring!
I feel like my soul is revived a bit…after a gloomy, rainy, cold and overall miserable week.
While it’s still not fully spring here in Tokyo, I can tell we’re getting there with the intermittent rise in temperatures touching close to 20 degrees.
For all that, I am absolutely ready to cache away my winter wear until next winter.
I couldn’t resist this rare occasion of a clear blue sky and the sun beaming bright to fulfill my eternal sartorial love of pairing denim with white.
I am not one to cave in fully on the denim-on-denim only because I find it harder to pull off than what it actually seems, particularly when you don’t have the right denim wash to pair together – but for one of the warmest days so far in the year I thought of testing it out.
Time after time, the double denim fad is seen to resurface and this coming spring season sure is indifferent. It is true, that double denim can be controversial but will never truly go out of fashion.
As a newbie testing the grounds out on a decade over old style, I went for a casual yet chic look pairing my oversized denim jacket with a figure hugging denim skirt – both the denim washes aren’t matchy-matchy but does the trick.
Acclimating to the warmer days, I can foresee this silhouette of a tight fit skirt and oversized throw on jacket becoming my go-too.
Now just hoping that the weather swifts its way to spring weather ASAP so that we can bid farewell to hibernation!
I love that this look features a denim skirt, rather than the go to pair of jeans. Also, the mules are the perfect accent.

I wear a lot of denim – mainly denim jeans to be honest! I do have a denim jacket too but I never wear it with other denim – I guess, like you say, you have to get the right combination for it to work.

I just love the versatility of denim! I can’t believe the pointy shoes are back! I loved this trend back in the 2000’s I remember everyone wearing them in Paris on my trip to Europe! I can’t wait to see more!
