Summer Glam

So it’s not everyday you’re invited to a wedding. Believe it or not, this was my first time attending a wedding in my 23 years of existence. Startling, I know.

Naturally, I was very excited. But at the same time this got me into panic mode because I had no clue what I would be wearing. Is it just me or that when you actually need to go shopping you never end up finding anything you like. BUT. When you least need it, shops are carrying the prettiest dresses and what not. So to say the least, the struggle was very real. From numerous store visits to browsing online  I didn’t quite find anything I could justify buying. Three weeks prior to the wedding weekend, out of self-pity I was almost about to place an order online. Just before that would happen, Sister Parikh came to the rescue – aren’t sisters just the best!

I opted for midi dresses for both the days. This cold-shoulder crochet lace dress in this cool-light gray went perfectly for the actual day of the wedding. The scalloped hemline added extra attention to details along with a mid-length lining, ensuring a flattering and modest finish to the overall look.

I’m not one to experiment much with my hair, but seeing this occasion as an excuse to dress up was just icing on the cake. I decided to go for a twisted half-up, half-down with curls to complete the look. Thankful to all that hairspray that did it’s job well for the night, considering it was quite breezy summery day.

Day 2 which was the wedding party, I went with this black peplum midi lace dress. The nude lining underneath and long sleeves made the overall look very modest and chic. Keeping everything within the same color palette, I went with black accessories to complement the dress. Also, this time around I curled my hair and put it in a half pin-up, making it easier to manage and less to worry about.

I love to dress up and I love to style. Celebrations like these are a great excuse to emulate my sartorial passion!

Shoutout to my ‘photographer’ who likes to remain anonymous. You’re the best!

Two great outfits! Deciding what to wear at weddings can be a complete minefield. So much etiquette to negotiate.

Both of your dresses are gorgeous. I was formerly a wedding photographer, so I have been to a lot of weddings, and deciding what to wear can be so hard!

I’ve been to many weddings, and I always hate trying to decide what to wear. And yay for sisters coming through, I always raid my younger sister’s closet when I need something in particular.
